| 内容記述 | Recently, a marked increase in the use of Snoezelenon people with severe disability have been seen in their field. There were both positive and negative results reported about effects of Snoezelen. The difference between the multisensory therapy and Snoezelen are still unclear because those two methods are similar in equipments and procedures. This study was conducted to investigate the effect of a room with sensory equipments which is called Snoezelen, on individuals with profound and multiple disabilities. Six participants (see Table 1) were observed in the room as each stayed forty minutes per month for half a year. Data was collected on the view point of excitability, stable, drowsiness and asleep stages via direct observation. The results showed that there were some tendedcy of arousal variations of all participants. Some participants showed subdued levels, others were more activated ( Table 2-a, b and Fig.1). As such, conceptualization about Snoezelen or multisensory environment was discussed on the subject of how the attitude and participation of staff side should be, and each conditions and the implications of the findings are to be discussed for the future research. | |||||
