Fitting an S-curve model, language change data can be expected to summarize and analyse past trends and to predict future trends. This study discusses Piotrowski-Altmann's model and a model using a logistic curve, which are the major ones employed in the limited number of S-curve studies. We also discuss cases － a study of honorifics in Okazaki city, the standardization of modern Japanese in Tsuruoka city, and Chinese character words spreading in 19th and 20th century Japanese － which employ a multiple logistic regression with a multifactor approach.
